DEPARTMENT OF MINES AND GEOLOGY (DMG), JHARKHAND
DMG wants to implement GPS based Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) for mineral transporting vehicles in the state for bringing efficiency to logistics and prevent illegal mining. For this purpose, installation of Vehicle Tracking Device (VTD) in all trucks registered for transportation of minerals in the state will be made mandatory. All such vehicles will be required to be suitably equipped with VTD procured by the vehicle owners from the vendors that will be empaneled by DMG. The fitment of VTD on mineral transporting vehicles will enable on-line, real-time monitoring of their movement and effective enforcement through a web based Vehicle Tracking Application Solution that is also proposed to be developed and deployed.
DMG is carrying out this empanelment process (“Empanelment Process”) with an objective to evaluate and enlist the VTD(s) meeting the prescribed criteria outlined in this document in response to the applications received in this behalf from the interested and eligible entities.
